CEO of FSSAI Visits Amdapoor Gram Panchayat in Telangana as Part of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra

As part of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure the widespread implementation of central government schemes, Amdapoor Gram Panchayat in Nizamabad District, Telangana, witnessed significant programs on January 20, 2024. The programs were presided over by the Hon’ble MP of Nizamabad, Shri Dharmapuri Arvind, and CEO of FSSAI, Shri G. Kamala Vardhana Rao.

CEO’s Acknowledgments: Expressing gratitude to the Hon’ble MP for active involvement in issue resolution, CEO Shri Rao appreciated the organizers and stakeholders for their commitment to government schemes and public health. The CEO has been actively collaborating with district collectors and health officials in Telangana, addressing challenges promptly.

Public Health Concerns: While praising the low incidence of diabetes and hypertension in the panchayat, Shri Rao addressed concerns about unsafe food, emphasizing the need to reduce salt, sugar, and fat consumption, especially for children and women. The assurance from PM Modi to include fortified rice in the food security scheme by April was highlighted.

Nutritional Awareness and Organic Farming: District Medical Officers were instructed to engage with pregnant women, create awareness about daily nutrient requirements, and promote the inclusion of millets in their diet. The CEO advocated for organic farming practices and the use of organic fertilizers over chemical alternatives.

MP’s Directives and Assurances: Hon’ble MP Shri Dharmapuri Arvind released the calendar and handbook of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, detailing schemes and guidelines. He ensured the guaranteed implementation of every scheme and instructed gas agencies to register for free gas connections. Local issues, such as school renovations, were promised under MPLADS. The MP emphasized the simplicity of mandatory documents (Ration Card and Aadhaar) for scheme registration and urged beneficiaries to open zero accounts under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana.
