About Udyog Aadhar

Understanding the previous registration system.

Udyog Aadhar, also known as Aadhar for Business, was the registration system for MSMEs prior to July 2020. It was a 12-digit unique identification number provided by the Ministry of MSME.

This system has now been replaced by the new Udyog Registration portal. While existing Udyog Aadhars are valid, all new registrations are done through the Udyog portal to get an Udyog Registration Certificate.

When & Who Can Apply for MSME Udyog Registration

Udyog registration is open to micro, small, and medium enterprises, based on investment and turnover criteria, fostering business growth.

The online Udyog Registration is a paperless process based on self-declaration.

The new online Udyog Registration made the process easier since all one had to do was self-declarations without having to upload copies of documents. Thus it may be simplified, eliminating the lengthy paperwork and administration burden. The only essential documents required are:

• Aadhaar Number: The 12-digit Aadhaar of the proprietor, managing partner, or karta is required.
• PAN Number: The business's unique 10-character Permanent Account Number.
• Bank Account Details: Your business bank account number and IFSC code for transactions.
